New $2 million “GROW Fund” will help businesses expand, provide housing solutions in Waukesha County

A new $2 million economic development fund will support business expansion and innovative housing solutions in Waukesha County. The Generating Resources and Opportunity in Waukesha County (GROW) Fund has been created by the Waukesha County Center for Growth to give businesses access to financial resources, while allowing contributing banks to meet federal lending guidelines.

The Waukesha County Center for Growth, in partnership with local municipalities, recently completed a study of new apartment/condominium developments in the county. The study revealed that there are 1,000 new market-rate, in-demand apartments under construction in Waukesha County today, and 2,500 have come online since 2014.

Waukesha County Business Alliance, Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC), Waukesha County Center for Growth, Aries Industries and Dedicated Computing are hosting the MADE Career Pathways Expo this Thursday, October 12. The Career Expo provides interactive, hands-on activities for nearly 1,000 high school students in Waukesha County to show them all the different career opportunities in the manufacturing, automotive, design, engineering and construction industries.

The Waukesha County Business Alliance, Waukesha County Center for Growth, Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow and Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington (WOW) Workforce Development board gathered results from a survey that reveals trends for business in Waukesha County. These organizations partnered to distribute a similar survey in 2015 to guide an economic development plan that ultimately ended in the creation of the Waukesha County Center for Growth.

Metal-Era expanding plant in Waukesha

Metal-Era, North America’s leader in commercial roof edge and roof ventilation solutions, celebrated the groundbreaking of its headquarters expansion in the city of Waukesha today. The company is expanding its current 100,000 square foot building with a 25,000-square foot addition. The company will also remodel about 15,000 square feet of office space and purchase equipment to accommodate a four-year strategic growth plan.
New Study Reveals Long-Term Economic Growth Opportunities in Waukesha County

Waukesha County leaders are announcing plans to ensure long-term economic growth in the County. The results of the recently completed Waukesha County Industrial/Business Park Land Absorption Study (IBPLAS) will allow local leaders to anticipate the development rate of parcels of land available for business parks while ensuring that land is accessible to new and growing businesses.
